In addition, compare specifically the softly painted, gently rounded face; peaches and cream complexion; quiet, distant look of this beautiful woman painted by Cotes, as well as Lady Holmes; and the manner in which her clothes are painted, in a very similar manner that Cotes painted the following portrait of Portrait of Sarah Whatman, also half-length.
