Sale 32 Lot 1653

LATE FEDERAL WALNUT CARD TABLE, early 19th century, with journeyman's handwritten label. Finely figured top with crossbanded edge, opening to felt-lined gaming surface; conforming frieze with centered tablet; spiral-twisted pedestal rests on plinth base, saber legs, and castered paw feet - Open: 29 1/2 in. x 36 in. x 35 in.; Closed: 17 1/2 in.
Estimate $700-900

With scattered shrinkage, veneer losses and replacements, replaced felt (as-new condition); plinth base has shrinkage, age crack, and loss of some stringing.

Thank you for your question. I believe the surface has been refinished over the years, which lends a mild surface sheen that many of our buyers favor.

Sold for $350
