The small while fragment in an early 20th century frame with small daguerrotype portrait of Lincoln in a gilt metal case, with hand-written note, and later typed note: "From Grandmother Montague's keep sakes as found at 123 W. Castle St., Syracuse, N.Y. after death of Father Montague, Feb. 5th. 1930. READS, A piece of towel that was around Abraham Lincoln's head after the assasination."
