EARLY VICTORIAN MARBLE-TOP STAND, circa 1840, rosewood and mother-of-pearl inlays. Centered floral medallion on marble ground enclosed by similar inlaid enrichment; octagonal baluster pedestal, conforming plinth base, and scrolled legs - 26 1/4 in. x 22 3/4 in. D.

The marble top is in excellent condition. Surface refinished; residue of packing material to outer edge rim; the whole sturdy with cleats appearing as later adaptation; minor intermittent veneer losses, age cracks, and wear to finish to pedestal base.

The table surface is marble with separate inlays forming the ornamental design. The circular wood enclosing this marble surface has age cracks, which have been subsequently filled and the whole top refinished.
