The whole is in very good condition. It is composed of pegged mortise and tenon construction. We noted a minor loss to the crowned figure at the side of the case (i.e. not visible from frontal view). Further, the case has been refinished over the years by a professional conservator. We believe the lid to be original to the case as is also pegged. As with many antiques dating to this period, we found old worm and age cracks.
