45-STAR AMERICAN FLAG, circa 1906. The 45th star was added to the American flag when Utah was granted statehood on July 4, 1896. This configuration remained as the American flag until July 4, 1908 when Oklahoma became the 46th state. A young girl, Helen Gomes, scribbled her name in the lower left corner of this flag on February 22, 1901. - Framed, 16 in. x 14 in.
