Kabongo Kuba mask, primarily used in funerary rites by the Kuba people of the Democratic Republic of Congo, are worn by dancers during ceremonies to invoke ancestral spirits and ensure the safe passage of the departed soul. Kabongo masks are characterized by geometric patterns, often in low relief, and tapered eyes. The mask features cowrie shells attached to the sides. - Height: 12 inches.
