ARTIST PROFILE: Emmanuel de Dieudonne was active/lived in Switzerland. Emmanuel Dieudonne is known for Portrait, figure, oriental genre painting. As a young artist, Emmanuel de Dieudonné devoted himself to academic art, painting in the style of Alexandre Cabanel, under whom he studied at the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris. His later travels to the Middle East, notably to Turkey, inspired a renewed interest in Orientalist subjects, including portraits. Among the portraits he painted was that of the Turkish Orientalist painter Osman Hamdy Bey
