FRAMED FRAGMENT OF THE BREITLING BALLOON KNOWN AS "ORBITER 3", #444/1000. Privately distributed by the Breitling Swiss Watch Company. The Breitling Balloon was the first to circumnavigate the Earth non-stop from March 1, 1999 - March 21, 1999; a total of 19 days, 21 hours and 47 minutes. The distance flown: 45,755 kilometers or 28,430 miles. The balloon was piloted by Betrand Piccard and Brian Jones . Framed with AP color photograph of the balloon over the Swiss Alps, hand-signed by both Piccard and Jones, 8 in, x 6 1/2 in. - Framed, 17 in. x 26 1/2 in.
