IVORY COAST BAULE PEOPLES WESTERN STYLE COLORFUL STATUE. Patinated hand-carved and decorated wooden statue from the Baule ethnic group, from central Ivory Coast. As is the case with this statue, "settlers" were often represented through institutional functions such as doctor, policeman, gendarme or judge. Thanks to African humor, some characters keep black skin and their hands in their pockets. - Height approximately: 19 inches.
