IVORY COAST BAULE PEOPLES WESTERN STYLE MAN FIGURINE. Patinated hand-carved and decorated wooden statue from the Baoule ethnic group, from central Ivory Coast. As is the case with this statue, "settlers" were often represented through institutional functions such as doctor, policeman, gendarme or judge. Thanks to African humor, some characters keep black skin and their hands in their pockets. - Height: 7 inches (including base).
