JOHANN LORENZ HAID (German 1702-1750). L'Enseigne mor (The Moorish Sign), circa mid-1700s. Mezzotint print after the work of Italian painter Giovanni Battista Piazzetta (1682-1754) and was published by Johann Christian Leopold in in Augsburg, Germany. The print was likely part of a series of 22 imaginary portrait heads published in Augsburg around 1730-50. The print depicts a young boy with a cap and a large sack over his shoulder. The inscription at the base provides the name of the artists, the publisher and the copyright (Cum Gratia et Privilegio Sacrae Caesareae Majestatis"). Unframed.
