LIBERIAN DAN PEOPLE MASK. An elaborate Dan People headdress adorned with cowrie shells, which are also used to line the wooden long, beak-like nose, face. The headdress incorporates a basketry structure and textile elements. The mask is further embellished with what appear to be tufts of orange fiber and additional organic materials, possibly straw.
