Wooden and decorated Dogon ceremonial container or vessel, often referred to as an "aduno koro" or "ark of the world," holds significant ritualistic importance for the Dogon people of Mali. These containers were historically used in various rituals, including harvest ceremonies to hold offerings to the spiritual world, or to contain food consumed during the investment rituals of Dogon religious and political leaders (hogon). Some variations were also used for divination or as tobacco containers. - Height: 11.25 inches.
