MALIAN DOGON DOOR TA KOGURU LOCKS. Lot of two patinated Dogon door locks from Mali. These traditional wooden locks, known as ta koguru, were used to secure the doors of dwellings, granaries, and sacred spaces. Beyond their practical purpose, these locks are significant elements of Dogon art, often featuring carved motifs or anthropomorphic figures that reflect Dogon cosmology and beliefs, sometimes representing ancestors or protective spirits. - Length: up to 21 inches.
