PAKISTANI KALASH GANDAU WOODEN FUNERARY FIGURE OF A MALE RIDING A HORSE, late 1960s. Patinated carved wooden figure acquired in the late-1960s. "Gandaus" are traditionally carved by the Kalash people in Chitral, Pakistan. These figures are often carved from one piece of Himalayan cedar wood and take the form of of the deceased. They are usually erected over the grave by the son of the individual who has died. - Height: 16 inches. Estimate $200-400
