"ROOSEVELT, RAIN-SOAKED AND EXPOSED TO STORM GETS SPLENDID OVATION AT CAPITOL'S DEDICATION" FRAMED NEWSPAPER, The Philadelphia Inquirer, October 5, 1906. Theodore Roosevelt dedicated Pennyslvania's Capitol building in Harrisburg, telling the "Nation's Ideals." Accompanied by 3 1/2 in. x 5 in. black and white photo of Roosevelt as President with handwritten signed inscription to a fellow "Rough Rider" comrade "With best wishes to Comrade Griffin and all his family from Comrade Theodore Roosevelt." Also included within the frame is a signed letter on stationery of "The Outlook" magazine dated August 26, 1912. NOTE: Griffen is likely 1st Lieutenant William E. Griffin of Santa Fe, NM who served in Troop E under Roosevelt during the Spanish-American War in Cuba. Roosevelt "Rough Rider"-related photos and signatures are scarce. - Framed, 29 in. x 23 in.
