THREE SMALL-SCALE FRENCH LITHOGRAPHIC POSTERS, 19TH / 20TH century. Set of three small-scale French lithographic posters, likely dating from the Belle Époque era (late 19th/early 20th century) and potentially created by the artist Jossot, are highly stylized advertisements for Parisian entertainment, characterized by vibrant, dynamic, and theatrical subjects. The first poster is an explicit advertisement for the show "La Marche au Soleil" at the venue "La Bodinière" (18, Rue St. Lazare), featuring a central yellow-clad female figure surrounded by grotesque and joyful figures in Pierrot and clown costumes. The second and third posters continue this theme of carnival and performance, depicting swirling groups of dancers, jesters, and figures holding or wearing theatrical masks, emphasizing movement, drama, and disguise through their expressive lines, warm color palettes (yellows, reds, and oranges), and distinct Art Nouveau/Post-Impressionist graphic style, making them prime examples of small-format affiches. Note: Unframed. None of the posters are laid down. All are mated. - various mat openings; approx: 9 x 12 inches; mat: 14 x 18 inches.
Estimate $200-250
