Rare Federal newspaper detailing the capture of Port Hudson, the fall of Vicksburg, and the Corps D'Afrique. Following the capitulation of Port Hudson, Louisiana to Union forces on July 9, 1863, a group of Federal army printers took possession of the Port Hudson printing house and produced this single issue.
