The Trowbridge Family of New England were reputedly the original owners of the Europa. (Note the flag initialed "T" on the Europa's main mast.) The 185 foot long Europa was built in 1911 as a barque, a three-masted square rigged ship. The Europa is still sailing today after almost 100 years. It has been retrofitted and is currently anchored in Scheveningen, The Netherlands.
