PROVENANCE: Painted for Sara Larkin by the artist.

From 1972 until Lu Shoukun's (Lui Shou-kwan) death in1975, Ms.Larkin was the artist's sole agent in Hong Kong in a group they formed called the Shui-Mo.
In 1972 Lu stated that it was necessary as his agent for Ms. Larkin to come to his studio to witness how he executed his Zen paintings.
"The point was utterly made that his Zen paintings were executed from his entire body and emanated from his solar plexus."
The collector's seal on the back is one that the artist had made for Ms. Larkin, which states "Seen and Approved by Sara Larkin".
