PLAINS INDIAN DOUBLE BULL HORN CLUB,19th-20th century, possibly Lakota, Sioux. Shock of black horsehair is affixed with red banding material atop bull horn. Horn is supported and affixed with very wide leather thong to handle, which is also affixed with leather sinews, encircling the top of the wooden handle of the weapon, affixed by multiple brass tacks to the handle. Immediately below on the handle, is a piece of animal fur affixed by brass tacks to the handle. Middle of handle is decorated with multiple brass tacks. Located below this on the handle are, leather sinews wound around handle affixed at top with brass tacks. Shock of horsehair is affixed to bottom of handle with a leather sinew. - 23 in. x 17 1/2 in.
