ARTIST PROFILE: John C. E. Taylor is known for Floral still life painting, design, drawing specialty, teaching. He taught at Trinity College 1941-1956;
Loomis Chaffee School ( Windsor, CT) 1955-1972 and was A scholar-in-residence at Loomis Chaffee School 1970-1972. He Studied at Academy Julian, Paris, France, 1926-1928; also with Walter Griffin, France, 1926-1928; Yale University, Masters Degree , 1940. Exhibited: Spring Salon, Paris, 1928; Springfield AL, 1935 (prize); Palm Beach Art Center, 1935 (prize); Connecticut Academy of Fine Arts, 1935 ( Cooper prize); Corcoran Gallery of Art of Art biennials, 1935, 1939; American Artists for Victory, 1942; American Artists for Victory Traveling Exhibition, 1945-1946, Pepsi-Cola, 1946; New Orleans Art Association, 1946 (second prize); Rockport Art Association, 1955 (black & white prize); Trinity College, Harford, 1970 (retrospective). - 28-1/8 x 22 inches; frame: 33 x 26 inches
