IMPORTANT CHIPPENDALE PARCEL-GILT MAHOGANY LOOKING GLASS, MASSACHUSETTS, circa 1770-1790. Carved scrolling upper ears with gilded appliques crested by phoenix device, above notched-corner frame with molded edge and centered by parcel-gilded floral tendrils with shaped apron and lower ears below - 23 in. x 50 in.

Excellent condition: restoration to parcel-gilt tendrils and minor losses (stems only), restoration to carved fretwork (cleanly broken and glued) and upper proper left ear, restoration to parcel-gilded scroll, and old patch to apron; phoenix of later date
