LOUIS VUITTON WOODEN AND METAL STRAPPED HINGE-TOP TRUNK, 19th/20th Century. Interior stamped with serial no. 123-559, and "Paris/Rue Scribe/Louis Vuitton/149 New Bond Street. London". Removable interior cloth-lined tray. Exterior monogrammed "B.K.S." & 4, and S in a diamond form. Metal handles to ends. Retains numerous travel stickers and tags. On casters. - 21 1/2 in. x 35 1/2 in. x 20 in.

PROVENANCE: Astor-Stevens family, New York City. Believed to have belonged to Byram Kerby Stevens, husband of Eliza Langdon Wilks, great granddaughter of John Jacob Astor.

Wear and fading to exterior canvas. Some toning and staining to interior. The tray insert is present with straps and handles intact. Strap buckles marked Paris, Louis Vuitton, London. Leather strap and metal/wood strips to exterior are present. Overall, in solid, ready to restore condition.
