LATE ENGLISH GEORGIAN BRASS MOUNTED MANTLE CLOCK,18th/19th Century. Works are marked illegibly. Sarcophagus form pediment having an acorn finial, over rectangular outline case set with brass. Round glazed panel opening to porcelain dial having roman numerals and pierced metal hands. Back of case having a glazed door panel with escutcheon having a gothic motif, opening to clock works, which are replaced. Sides of case having fretwork sound panels with fabric inserts and cornucopia motif ring handles. Raised on ball feet. Works and pendulum are intact. Case is similar to an 1820's clock, signed Barrauds's, Cornhill, London. - 20" high x 10 7/8" wide x 6" deep. Estimate $500-600
Works are later 19th Century. Clock is in good working condition and does chime. Pendulum is present, as well as winder. Crazing the dial associated with age. Case having minor areas of loss to moulding. Door panel to the back has a lock in need of adjustment, but no key is present.
