A view of towers and the Pont (bridge) Valentré in Cahors, which is tucked into a rounded nook of the Lot River, c. 1890. Cahors is a lovely medieval city almost entirely surrounded by water and is the capital of the French department of Lot. The Valentré bridge and the nearby ramparts were constructed and put into use c. 1350 AD.
