AMERICAN CHIPPENDALE WALNUT OXBOW SLANT-FRONT DESK,probably Massachusetts, circa 1775-80. Mahogany slant front (probably replaced) opens to interior fitted with central open compartment below simple rectangular drawer flanked, on both sides, by one long narrow drawer over two aligned drawers over four graduated shaped and molded drawers with brass bail-handle pulls (replacements). Molded base with carved, shaped apron. Raised on ball-and-claw feet. Small restorations and repairs. Estimate $1,200-1,800
