PAUL ALLIER French, 1833-1967 Two Works: "Danseuse au Voile" (Dancer with Veil) and "Danseuse aux Parfums" (Dancer with Perfumes) circa 1926 pochoir (stencil-based) prints Signed limited edition pair of Art Deco style pochoir (stencil-based) prints by the French artist Paul Allier (1883–1967). These illustrations, produced around 1926, are part of Allier's "Harem Series" and depict exotic dancers adorned in gold and silver. The edition of 200 and the ones in the lot are pencil numbered 115 and 181. The prints are created using the pochoir process, a refined stencil-based method popular from the late 19th century through the 1930s. This technique results in crisp lines and brilliant colors that can appear "wet" or freshly printed. Each one is individually framed and numbered. Not examined out of frame. DIMENSIONS: Sight (as matted) 15 x 10 inches; frame: 22 x 17 inches $200-300
