CONDITION REPORT: This condition report is prepared by Sloans & Kenyon's specialists as a service to our clients. It reflects our opinion as to the condition of the lot in question but is not the result of an examination of the work by a professional restorer or conservator. In accordance with Sloans & Kenyon's Terms and Conditions of Sale printed in the catalogue, all lots are sold "As Is." We therefore suggest that prospective buyers inspect each lot to determine its condition and, when appropriate, consult with a professional restorer or conservator. The painting is being protected by a glass pane, as noted in our catalog, and thus we have not inspected the painting out of its picture frame. Based on our examination, this is what it is apparent: (1) Due the surface rubbing against the picture frame, there is some abrasion in the upper left hand corner and the lower right hand corner of the painting. (2) The paint surface of the upper right hand corner is dirty. (3) The painting's main elements (the figures and/or architectural elements) appear to be in order - minimal paint loss, dirt, or fading. (4) Florescent UV light does not show any major or significant signs of retouching, overpainting, and/or repairs. (5) The overall condition of the cradled panel as mounted on the back of a painting is in good condition and it is sturdy. (6) the 20th century picture frame is in acceptable condition.
