This fountain, commissioned by the Blair House Restoration Fund during the extensive restoration of Blair House in the 1980s, served as a focal point in the tranquil oasis of the interior courtyard of the President's Guest House, known as the Arthur and Janet Ross Garden.
J. W. Fiske was the founder of a prominent New York company that made and retailed iron and zinc ornamental garden objects in the second half of the 19th Century.
All proceeds from the sale of this fountain will be used by the Blair House
Restoration Fund for the continued enhancement and preservation of the
President's Guest House.
With losses to standard below upper basin; loss to foot of middle pedestal; and numerous losses to painted finish.
