JAPANESE DAGGER (TANTO), Shin-shinto sword period (19th century). In shirasaya (storage case). Blade: small gonome (row of semi-circles), and small choji (clove seed patterns) hamon (temper), no openings, hira-zukuri, flat blade (no ridge line), with horimono (carving) on ura side, consisting of a poem and g figures. Nakago (tang): Ubu (uncut), mu-mei (not signed), with one mekugi-ana (peg hole)
