JAPANESE SHORT SWORD (WAKIZASHI), Shinto sword period (17th century). Blade: temper not visible, some openings, some small chips. Nakago (tang): Ubu (uncut) but Machi Moved, three mekugi-ana (peg holes). Koshirae: decorated saya, opened up to accept blade; matching but not signed. Tsuba (guard) and fuchi kashira but menuki missing - 18 7/8 in., 48 cm.
