JAPANESE SAMURAI HELMET, Edo period (18th - 19th century). Bowl is 62 iron plates with liner missing. Lacquer writing, in kanji, outside of bowl. - 10 1/4 in. front to back.

The iron bowl and four-stage iron neck guard lost ninety percent of the black lacquer coating. Yellow neck guard lacing broken in many places.
