PAIR MAGGIE AND JIGGS CLOTH DOLLS. Circa 1920. Each with painted features and stitched fingers; stuffed heads, limbs and bodies. Maggie brandishes wooden rolling pin. Jiggs puffs on cigar. - Jiggs: app. 15 in tall; Maggie: app. 16 in. tall.

Maggie and Jiggs were the two main characters in George McManus'' comic strip "Bringing Up Father" that ran from January 12, 1913 to May 28, 2000. The comic strip was one of twenty included in the US Postal Service''s "Comic Book Classics" commemorative postage stamp series in 1995.

Moth damage to clothing; Maggie''s stand is missing and wires are present; strand of pearls is broken, two remain. Earrings present but are broken, beads missing. Maggie has hair loss at nape of neck.
Jiggs : loss/moth damage to vest and jacket and tie. Wear and tear to shoes. Discoloration and minor soiling as expected for age.
