GROUP OF VINTAGE SPORTS ITEMS, late 19th to mid-20th century. Full-page Harper's Weekly football print from 1883, framed and matted; 1940s Beech-Nut gum magazine advertisement featuring NY Yankees star Allie Reynolds, framed; "International Event" news broadside photograph featuring President Harry S. Truman signing a baseball for the Washington Senators batboy Bobby Shellin, in protective sleeve, unframed; and the front page of the South Bend News-Times, November 11, 1928, with the headline "Notre Dame Stuns Army And Chris Cagle by 12-6." The page is laminated for preservation and protection. That game is popularly called the "Win One For The Gipper" game in which Knute Rockne made his famous half-time speech to his Notre Dame team urging victory and referring to his great, recently deceased running star, George Gipp.
