GEORGIAN OAK CHEST OF DRAWERS IN THE CHIPPENDALE STYLE. 18th/19th Century. Labeled to drawer interior, Scharf Label, Tag, & Box Co., Michigan. Rectangular top having a moulded edge over two banks of four drawers. Raised on bracket feet. Brass pulls to most of the drawers.

Regarding the label to drawer interior: In the late nineteenth century and through the early twentieth century numerous female workers were employed at factories such as Scharf Label, Tag, & Box Company. Many women worked as machine operators; however, some were even employed as forewomen and supervisors, and the company was one of the leading employers of women at the time. - 36 1/2"" high x 37" wide x 17 3/4" deep.

Two pulls are missing. All drawers have locks, but no key is present. Some boards to the back of the case have been replaced, and a repair to one of the brackets, but otherwise very good.
