DUTCH BURLWOOD MARQUETRY BOMBE CHEST,early 19th century. Serpentine top over conforming case, extensive inlay to top, sides and drawer fronts. Four drawers with bail handle pulls, over an inlaid apron. Raised on hairy paw feet. Locks to all four drawers. - H: 32 1/2 in. x W: 34 1/4 in. x D: 19 1/8 in. Estimate $400-600
The hardware is replaced. Split to the apron, some minor areas of loss to veneer and splits to the bottom of drawers 1,3 & 4 associated with long term storage. Minor splits to top at the corners associated with age. Area of loss to underside to moulded edge top left corner to the back. Splits to the sides of the case associated with age and storage. Structurally sound. There is no key to this chest.
