MID-LATE 19TH CENTURY AMERICAN ERNEST F. HADEN CHIPPENDALE-STYLE DESK WITH BALL AND CLAW FEET, NEW YORK, Mid-Late 19th Century. Drop front with lock, but no key, opening to center compartment with shaped shallow drawer over one drawer. Original door panel is lacking; Centered by two banks of one long drawer over two short drawers and slotted compartments. Over four drawers with old brass pulls and locks to all drawers. Gadrooned apron. Raised on ball & claw feet. No key is present with this lot. - 41 1/4" high x 46" wide x 24" deep.

PROVENANCE: Deaccessioned from Homewood Museum, Baltimore, MD

Old minor splits to two of the drawer fronts. Loss of veneer to sides of two drawers. One pull is incomplete. Minor wear throughout associated with age and use. Sunfading. Left back leg is a bit loose from case. Normal wear associated with age and use.
