"Lukes parable was the inspiration for many different prints, typically issued in sets of four or six. What distinquishes the Sayer edition is that it was the first set issued in England which shows figures in modern dress (based on Le Clerc's designs). The etchings were an immediate success, so they were issued again as mezzotints." These examples are of the earlier etchings. - Framed: Approximately 15" high x 19" wide. Estimate $600-800

In museum quality framing. Not examined out of frame but there are minor creases, some toning, minor discoloration to several of the plates, and several with minor tears. Minor wear to the frames, minor discoloration to one of the mats.
