ARTIST PROFILE: Born in La Paz, Bolivian artist Graciela Rodo Boulanger (b. 1935) is globally celebrated for her joyful, stylized paintings and etchings featuring round-faced children. Raised by a concert pianist mother and an art connoisseur father, she initially pursued both music and fine art before dedicating herself fully to painting at age 22. She later moved to Paris to study etching and printmaking under the master printmaker Johnny Friedlaender. Over a prolific career spanning more than 200 exhibitions across five continents, Boulanger achieved major international acclaim, including being named the official artist for UNICEF’s International Year of the Child in 1979 and receiving prestigious commissions from the United Nations and the Metropolitan Opera of New York.
