PROVENANCE: Ex-coll Willis S. Paine, son of Nicholas E. Paine, married to Ruby S. Tilden. Willis Paine was Superintendent of the State Banking Department. in New York and wrote most of the state's banking laws during the mid 1800s. These albums were most likely acquired during the couple's honeymoon.
