13 MEISSEN PORCELAIN CABINET PLATES. late 19th -20th century; underglaze blue crossed swords mark; various imprinted numbers. Cobalt ground, with extensive gilding, pierced scrolling rim; each centered with hand-painted figural scene including three mythological, six genre and four fête galante. The three mythological plates, after original Old Master paintings, titled on the reverse "Die Philosophie, Ch. Tromoliére," "Nymphen, Bachus, Lefebvre," "Leda nach Boucher" - 9 1/4 in. diam.

The four fête galante date 1924-1934.

Two plates have repairs along the pierced border. One, of a genre scene (located 10-11 o'clock as if looking at a clock face) and one of an 18th century couple (located 6-8 o'clock as if looking at a clock face). There are chips, hairlines and glue residue visible as a result of the restoration. Otherwise in excellent condition. There is no crazing. There are no scratches or losses on the hand-painted images. There is no significant losses or rubbing to the gilding.
