AMERICAN SCHOOL Mid-Century Stylized Portrait, 1958 Watercolor portrait, signed and dated "Anita-58" in the lower right corner, depicts a stylized profile of a figure against a fluid, multi-colored background. The subject is rendered with expressive, gestural brushstrokes, featuring a prominent, pointed nose, a singular dark eye defined by a sharp arc, and a hint of a smile. A deep reddish-maroon wash forms a hood or headpiece that frames the face, while vibrant orange cross-hatched patterns add texture to the right side of the composition. Sight: 14.5 x 7.5 inches; frame: 20 x 13.5 inches $100-150
