EMILE VAN MARCKE DE LUMMEN (French, 1827-1890). Study of a Cow, circa 1890, Oil on canvas. Signed lower right. The artwork depicts a brown cow standing in a pastoral landscape with trees and a cloudy sky in the background. The painting is framed in an ornate gold frame.

NOTE: Van Marcke was a well-regarded 19th-century animal painter, particularly known for his depictions of cattle. The Art Institute of Chicago currently holds a similar painting in its collection. - 14 x 11 inches; frame: 25 x 22 inches
