TWO ASSORTED NAVAJO GANADO OR KLAGETOH NATIVE AMERICAN HAND-WOVEN GEOMETRIC WOOL RUGS. Set of two vintage hand-woven geometric wool rugs which are likely Southwestern-style rugs, most notably resembling Navajo rugs. Both rugs feature bold, central geometric designs, which is a hallmark of classic Native American or American Indian and Southwestern weaving. They appear to be made of wool, consistent with traditional Southwestern weavings. The use of earthy tones (brown, white, black/dark gray) combined with a bold color (red) is highly characteristic of certain regional Navajo styles. The rug to the left: Ganado or Klagetoh Style (Navajo): the red background with black, white, and gray geometric designs is strongly reminiscent of a Ganado style Navajo rug. Ganado rugs are famous for their deep red background (often called "Ganado Red") and black, white, and gray central diamond motifs. The rug on the right (gray/natural background with red, black, and white/natural geometric designs) shares a similar pattern to a Ganado, but with the background color reversed, which is typical of a Klagetoh style Navajo rug. Klagetoh rugs are known for having a gray or tan natural wool background with a prominent central design in red, black, and white.
