MEDIEVAL MANUSCRIPT, LATIN LITURGICAL PSALTER OR BREVIARY (16th century). Framed Sheet of an early manuscript, likely from a liturgical book such as a psalter or breviary. The text is in Latin. It is from Psalm 119 (or 118 in the Latin Vulgate). Rough translation: " At the ninth hour. Princes have persecuted me without cause: and my heart has been afraid of your words. I will rejoice over your words; as one who has found great spoil. I have hated injustice, and abhorred it: but I have loved your law. Seven times a day I have sung praise to you, for your righteous judgments. Great peace have they that love your law: and there is no stumbling-block to them. I have waited for your salvation, O Lord: and I have loved your commandments. My soul has kept your testimonies and loved them exceedingly. I have kept your commandments and your testimonies: for all my ways are in your sight. Let my prayer come before you, O Lord. Framed.
