BURLWOOD SLANT FRONT SECRETARY WITH DOUBLE DOME TOP,19th Century. In two parts, the upper cabinet with double dome cornice, over two domed glazed door panels with beveled glass. Door panels with replaced lock. Opens to extensively fitted interior with numerous drawers and compartments. The lower case with slant front which opens to locking center door panel with replaced lock, flanked by compartments and drawers over a recessed compartment with sliding cover. Over four drawers with feather banding to front of drawer. Raised on bracket feet. Wide boards to the back of both. - 87 5/8" high x 38" wide x 21 1/8" deep. Estimate $600-700
Hinges and other hardware are replaced. Some separation to the veneer, quite extensive losses of veneer to the feet in particular. Some loss to veneer to various areas to both top and lower case. Feet are replaced. Old repairs using linen strips which require a bit of work to the back of both pieces. Old very minor splits to the left and right sides of the lower case. Keys are present.
