ITALIAN IVORY AND WOOD PARQUETRY CASKET, 15th century; partial dealer's paper label. The interior with canvas lining; the underside of the hinged lid inscribed "Bavallo Della Sigra Ma*g**anta; with wrought iron hardware. - 3 3/8 in. x 5 1/8 in. x 3 1/8 in.

PROVENANCE: Estate of James Duncan Hague, NY. Served as adviser to King Edward VII. Acquired at Sotheby's, London 1890s.

The ivory with hairlines and discoloration consistent with age. The side of the cover is missing one piece of wood inlay. There are chips/fleabites along the edges of the wood inlay. There is a small chip to the ivory on the front corner. The hinges and lock are loose. There is water damage visible on the underside. Additional photos are posted online.
