ARTIST PROFILE: Caroline Thorington is a prominent printmaker specializing in lithography who has been a fixture of the Washington, D.C., art scene since 1969. Born in Kansas in 1943, she developed her foundational skills during a fellowship at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich before earning her MFA from George Washington University in 1975. In addition to her thirty-year career teaching printmaking and drawing at Montgomery College, Thorington has exhibited her work extensively, earning accolades such as the 2017 Muskat Studios Prize and having her print Covid Feat recognized by the Washington Post.
